Planning Review Approval

The Planning Review by many city and county agencies would involve an application with prepared drawings for zoning and/or planning staff review. This review ensures the proposed project meets the municipal codes. If the proposed project is complex or is requesting special considerations, such as a variance, a review by a panel or planning commission may need to be done.

This process falls during the Schematic Design and Design Development Phases. Once planning approval has been obtained, the project moves to the next step — submit the drawings for a building permit application and eventually approval for building construction.
